should be called "elder phone". Jun 18, 2009 I bought this for my 91 year old mom. Very simple for her to use. Before this, the other phones had so many buttons, she would press the wrong one and the phone wouldn't be hung up. I had to call the police to see if she was alright because I got a busy tone. Unfortunately one phone seemed never to charge well no matter if a new battery was installed. I must say my Mom is hard on phones; dropped a different one once in the bathtub, keeps phones in her pocket together with dog biscuits and allowed a caretaker to put in standard non-rechargeables!!! That being said, I want to buy her another set to replace the one damaged by the wrong batteries.

HELLO Oct 17, 2008 After a good deal of research looking for the perfect combination for an elderly parent who wears hearing aids, I bought this phone along with INDEPENDENT TECHNOLOGIES IND-ITC-6700 Bright ID'er Jumbo Caller ID. She dearly loves this setup. I placed the base unit near the wall-phone-jack which is not near her chair. I set the slave handset on the table next to her chair. The huge, red-lighted caller ID, which sits next to the base phone, is easily visible from across the room. She raves about this new toy. This phone offers several novelty ring tones. I discovered that certain ring tones are more easily heard than others by people wearing hearing aids. Some tones are not heard at all. This is a big plus. This feature along with the volume will need to be set by someone who is somewhat familiar with high-tech gadgets. She really likes the simple one-button operation - and the numbers are easily seen by eyes with waning vision. During the acclimation period, we found that she was accidentally pressing the volume control on the side of the phone without realizing it. Once we got past this slight problem, all has been a breeze. Granted, there are many features we paid for on this phone that she will never use, but the comfort and enjoyment she gets from the features that she does use makes this a winner. After two months of use, I'd buy the same setup again.

Happy Oct 03, 2008 My 89 year old mother got this phone today. She has low vision & was able to see the caller id display & operate the phone and the speaker phone button. The speaker phone is very loud which is also good.

Excellent Big Button Cordless phones Mar 03, 2008 I bought these phones for my 85+ years old parents and they love them because they are easy to use and have easy to see numbers. The speaker button works beautifully and can be heard by everyonein a large room.
They were very easy to install.

Wish I could review it Dec 21, 2007 I wish I could write a review for this product based upon the actual use of it, but since I was shipped the wrong product 3 days before Christmas, I won't be writing one in 2007 any way. I will be returning the product (Amazon is paying the return shipping.), but I wish I knew when or if I might receive a replacement.
