Be careful Nov 18, 2009 The company claims "There are no hidden charges and all taxes are included" yet buries this in the fine print of the Terms of Use: "Inbound Calls that are immediately forwarded to an outside number (except via the auto-attendant or announce feature) in excess of 2,000 minutes per month will be billed at 2c per minute." I spent $40 signing up for the service and a number port before I fortunately realized this (thanks to another Amazon review) and canceled. They still charged me for the month and porting even though I never used it and the porting never went through. Proceed at your own risk...
Works as advertised Nov 14, 2009 I bought two of these--one for my office, another for my home office. The adapters allow me be make and receive calls from the same phone number at either location, using a regular phone connected to the internet via my computer. I contacted customer service several times before deciding whether to transfer my existing phone service (which was limited to one location) to Toktumi, and found Toktumi's customer service people to be readily available and very helpful. I have not had to contact customer service since, as the adapter is easy to set up and use.
Apparently the negative reviewer bought the adapter without going to the Toktumi web site or looking at the advertising, which states in big, bold letters that the service costs $14.95 a month (a great deal for unlimited domestic calls).

Not what it promises Jul 09, 2008 The Toktumi phone system seems like it would be a huge win for any small business - who wouldn't want to sound and look like the big boys without having to spend an arm and a leg just to get there? The problem with the service, however, is that their marketing seems to go too far - they say you can have the auto-attendant feature and so much more by just having the adapter - that's where they start going off the deep-end. It seems as though you need to have their paid service, for $12.95/month plus 2 cents a minute to even simply use the auto-attendant if it is only putting the call into your line anyway! For that kind of money, I can invest in a better system, with one that is going to give me crystal clear calls, or at least one that has a better hosted solution that is not interfering with my bandwidth or anything else on my computer at the moment. I give this product two thumbs down.

Easy yet powerful Mar 25, 2008 I often work out of my home and wanted a separate business line without spending alot of money. Toktumi fits the bill. Within a few minutes of receiving the adapter I was in business - the setup process is very simple. The call quality is quite good. The conferencing feature is cool - we use it for our weekly team calls (we are 5 people - but it says you can go up to 20 on a conference). I also like the search dialing - you just type a word and it pulls up numbers from different sources like your outlook and google. Easier then dialing numbers!
